Why Join

For someone who wants to study the WuLiuPai broad Northern method with a teacher and make room for regular practice.

A teacher you can return to

Reading about internal alchemy can raise questions that a book cannot answer for your particular situation. In live classes, you can ask the instructor to clarify an instruction and return to it after you have practised.

The small group provides a regular setting for this work. You learn within one curriculum, with guidance as you proceed through its foundation.

What a week of study involves

There are two one-hour class meetings, on Monday and Wednesday from 7–8 PM Raleigh time. Between meetings, beginners should allow about 20–60 minutes a day for personal practice.

Consider that whole commitment when deciding whether to join. Attending the classes and finding a place for practice in your ordinary week are both part of studying here.

Is this the teaching you are looking for?

This course may suit you if you want to study the broad Northern method, can attend live classes, and are prepared to work patiently with foundational instructions.

If you are still exploring what neidan means, begin with the Library. Understanding the subject will help you bring more specific questions to the introductory conversation.

Prior experience, your aims and suitability for the method are discussed privately before admission. The conversation is also your chance to decide whether the class format and approach fit you.

Understand the method before choosing

The words neidan, qigong and meditation can be used in different ways. DaoDeUS offers one specific school’s method. Understanding that distinction is more useful than choosing a course by its name alone.

Neidan and qigong: what is the difference? explains how this school approaches the distinction. Xing and ming introduces the two aspects of cultivation that shape its account of internal alchemy.
